Instead of retyping a statement line by line, upload the PDF, let the app suggest each transaction, and review the list before anything is saved.
The steps
- Download the statement as a PDF from your bank's website or app.
- In Cashflow: Budget Manager, choose to scan or upload and select the PDF.
- The app suggests the date, merchant, amount, whether it is income or an expense, and a category for each line.
- Review the list. Fix anything that is wrong and remove rows you do not want, such as transfers between your own accounts.
- Save the rest to the account the statement belongs to.
Tips for cleaner results
- Use the PDF your bank provides, not a photo of a printout, when you can.
- Check the first few rows against your statement to confirm dates and amounts read correctly.
- Pick the right account first so balances stay correct.
- Import one statement period at a time to avoid saving the same transaction twice.
Why review matters
Automatic suggestions are a head start, not a final answer. A merchant name can be ambiguous and a category can be wrong, so every suggestion can be edited before you save.
